Kaan Erkorkmaz

Dr. Erkorkmaz is an internationally recognized expert in CNC machine tools, spanning cutting mechanics (e.g., gear production), machine tool dynamics, linear/nonlinear digital model estimation, multi-axis motion and vibration control, trajectory planning, and precision mechatronics. As the Director of CANRIMT3, he leads the team in all areas of financial and project management, and leads Theme I (Digital machining and its integration with additive processes). Dr. Erkorkmaz has published >50 journal and 68 conference papers (h-index 34, Google Scholar), most of which are in the top 10% cited journals in his field (SciVal). Several of his team’s technologies have been commercialized or are being tested and adopted by Canadian and international companies in the aerospace, automotive, and machine tool fields. This includes his gear machining simulation and virtual gear metrology software and his active vibration control algorithms.
