Assistant Professor
Oguzhan Tuysuz

Biography

Dr. Tuysuz obtained his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from The University of British Columbia (UBC). Upon completing his doctoral studies, he joined the aerospace industry as the Principal Specialist of Machining Technologies Development, where he spent nearly three years contributing to manufacturing development, improvement, optimization, and monitoring of manufacturing processes for both new and existing aero engine components. Dr. Tuysuz is currently an Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Polytechnique Montreal. His research focuses on machine tool dynamics; mathematical modeling of mechanics, dynamics, chatter stability, dimensional form errors; error compensation strategies in machining processes; and machining parameter optimization for aerospace applications. He has received research funds from NSERC, MITACS, FRQ, CRIAQ, and REGAL. His interdisciplinary, physics- and data-based research integrates analytical, numerical, and experimental methods to digitize machining operations and to minimize the physical testing for closed-door machining.
